Most of us love to travel, to discover different cultures, to learn more about traditions and history. And which time of the year is better than the holiday period itself? Romanians add great value to the Easter Holiday Season thus we have specially prepared a four day tour of discovery, traditional foods and seasonal drinks.
Point of departure: Bucharest
Our first destination is Sinaia, a mountain resort also called “The Pearl of the Carpathians”. Preparing for such an important celebration, we will have a moment of solitude and peace at Sinaia Monastery.
After that we will visit the Peles Castle, a masterpiece of German Renaissance architecture. Internationally recognized as a symbol of the Romanian culture, great art collections and superb gardens await you within its walls.
Being on the road since morning we will have a traditional and rich lunch at Halewood Winery in Azuga, where we will also participate at a wine tasting.
We will then be heading back to Sinaia for accommodation.
This day is dedicated to beautiful Brasov, also known as “Transylvanian Gate” or the “Heart of Transylvania”. Here we can marvel at the Black Church – the biggest gothic religious monument in Eastern Europe -, walk down the String Street- the narrowest street in Europe- and catch a glance at the “Brasov, Hollywood-like sign” on Tampa Mountain , and also The City Hall, Orthodox Cathedral. You will get an idea on how a typical old Transylvanian city looked like, but also enjoy the modern streets of the “The Old Town”.
Here the group will choose what kind of lunch it prefers – a traditional or international one.
After that we will return to Sinaia and get ready for the mid-night Resurrection Celebration at the local church. Upon our return, red eggs, red wine and sponge cake will be waiting for us.
On the first day of Easter, we’ll have a free program – the locals will prepare a traditional Easter brunch and after that you can enjoy the rest of the day in this beautiful scenery or if the group decides other way, we can wander along Prahova Valley to enjoy the fresh mountain air.
After breakfast, we will joyfully wave goodbye to the Carpathians and head back to the city of departure.
