This tour is a special one, as you receive a mission! We will visit two medieval cities build by the Early Germans in Transylvania. One is Brasov, the other, Sibiu. The mission: for you to find both the similarities and differences of the cities.
As we are coming from Sibiu, and you already know some facts about it, let us give you some insights on Brasov. Also known as “Transylvanian Gate” or the “Heart of Transylvania”, here we can see the Black Church – the biggest gothic religious monument in Eastern Europe -, we’ll walk on the String Street– the narrowest street in Europe, from where the Brasov, “Hollywood-like” sign, can be seen on Tampa Mountain – and check The City Hall, Orthodox Cathedral.
Also, on our day trip we will make stops at Bran Castle and at Rasnov Citadel.
Bran Castle is one of the most famous Romanian castles due to Stoker’s story of Dracula. The legend is based on the life of Vlad Tepes/Vlad the Impaler (1431-1476), a ruler revered by Romanians for standing up to the Ottoman Empire. Yet during our visit we will uncover all of the mysteries behind the walls of once a royal residence, today a national monument and landmark of Romania.
We’ll drive towards Rasnov City and Citadel. Dating back from the 15thCentury, the citadel is situated on top of a hill from where amazing landscapes can be admired by all visitors.
Drive back to Sibiu.
