In our latest article, we told the tale of the boy who grew up to be the most important Romanian musician, George Enescu. But for that we needed to take you back to the 20th century, the same time when music brought freedom and wide experimentation with new musical styles, forms that challenged the accepted rules of music of earlier periods. The invention of musical amplification and electronic instruments, especially the synthesizer, in the mid-20th century revolutionized popular music and accelerated the development of new forms of music.
With that in mind, we bring you back in the present with a list of the upcoming events in Romania:
Electric Castle Festival
- The largest music festival in Romania and it’s the first venue that took electronic dance music and live concert sounds to a castle’s domain.
When? –June 24th – June 29th
Where? – Bánffy Castle, an architectonic Baroque monument situated in Bonţida, a village in the vicinity of Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Summer Well Festival
- Already at its 5th edition, the festival returns in the second weekend of August for two days of music and art performances.

Where? – Stirbey Palace, Buftea city, 20 km distance from Bucharest.
